Tutoring

 The academic achievement gap in Santa Barbara is a well-documented concern that primarily affects underrepresented, minority student populations. Santa Barbara is home to a culturally diverse community, and SBPAL recognizes the needs and cultural barriers that prevent students from underrepresented communities from being successful. 
Through our partnerships with different community organizations, we can identify and provide services to youth who would benefit from our program, including academic tutoring.

We are dedicated to addressing the current educational needs of teenagers and actively promoting their academic growth and personal development. Our ultimate goal is to empower these students to thrive academically and confidently pursue their dreams of higher education, ensuring a brighter future for our community as a whole.

• Enrich the educational experience of youth by providing individual and small group tutoring.
• Promote positive mentorship by connecting students with college tutors.
• Encourage self-efficacy, instill creativity, and promote self-esteem.  
• Provide students and their families with post-secondary knowledge

 Drop-in Tutoring is available for students who need additional homework assistance Monday-Friday from 3:00-6:30 p.m.
